Final Fantasy 14: How to Increase Resistance Rank in Bozjan Southern Front

Final Fantasy 14 How to Increase Resistance Rank in Bozjan Southern Front

To advance in Bozjan Southern Front one will need to collect lots of Mettle from battles and quests. This will unlock new adventures and abilities.

Final Fantasy XIV has just announced its latest expansion, Endwalker, which will raise the level cap to 90 and bring players across the world from Garlemald, to Thavnair, and even the moon. To prepare for this, players will want to acquire the strongest weapons available in Shadowbringers and increase their chosen jobs to level 80.

One of the best means of doing this is the Bozjan Southern Front. This grants experience points from level 71-79, Tomestones of Revelation, Archadian Judge armor, and powerful Relic weapons that can serve as great base gear for Endwalker. However, to access most of Bozja players will need to increase their standing with the Resistance.

Mettle And Rank Promotion In Final Fantasy 14

Resistance rank can be increased by accumulating Mettle. Mettle is rewarded for completing Skirmishes and Critical Engagements around the map. Note that if more than the maximum sign up for a Critical Engagement (between 24-48, based on encounter) the selected members will be purely random. Standard enemies on the field do not reward Mettle, but can drop other items like Bozjan Clusters used for mounts and cosmetics. Additionally, story quests involving Bozja and weekly quests will award set amounts of Mettle. For example, the repeatable quest One Man’s Relic from Annes in Gangos will grant 12,00 Mettle every week for completing Delubrum Reginae. However, a percentage of required Mettle is lost at initial death, and even more if forfeited if players release to their homepoint instead of being raised.

After certain thresholds, speak to the Resistance Commander back in camp and he will raise one’s rank by one level, to a cap of 15; ranks cannot be lost, even if players lose the needed Mettle after being promoted. The total Mettle for each level is follows:

  • Rank 1: Starting Position
  • Rank 2: 300 Mettle
  • Rank 3: 1,100 Mettle
  • Rank 4: 2,200 Mettle
